Cambiata typically performs in costume, and our concerts appeal to audiences of all ages. We play a wide variety of instruments, which are reproductions of period instruments, and we invite audience members to speak with us and take a closer look at the instruments after the show.

  • Saturday May 5th, 2012 at 10 AM "All around the Maypole"

Join us at10AM on Saturday, May 5th at the Charles Brown IceHouse on SandIsland as Mock Turtle Marionette Theater presents Cambiata’s charming event forthe family, All Around the Maypole.  Performing in costume and playing authenticperiod instruments, Cambiata will present a program of music for RenaissanceSpring followed by an audience participation Maypole dance workshop. Cambiatawill transport you and your children to another time and place,with songs, dance tunes, and poetry that usher in the Spring.  Selections are from 16th and 17thcentury Europe, and are performed on lute, viols, recorders, andkrumhorns.  Cambiata members include:Sara Cox, Ruth Maletz, Ilse Zinnes, and Bill Thatcher.   Joining Cambiata for this performance issoprano vocalist Melissa Walters. The performance will be followed by a specialMaypole Dance workshop with guest dance instructor Barbara Pearson.  All ages are welcome.   • Sunday November 27th, 2011 at 7 PM "A Lehigh Valley Christmas" with guest singer Alyssa Thatcher at Allentown Symphony Hall. $35 admission. Cambiata will be part of a cast of many with their Renaissance winter and holiday music.
    Sunday December 4th, 2011 at 10:30 AM Special Emmaus Moravian Church Service with Cambiata on 146 Main Street, Emmaus, PA. Cambiata will be ringing in the holiday season with renaissance selections in the prelude (at 10:15 AM) and during the service. Wonderful Renaissance music performed on reproductions of original instruments. Come and catch the spirit of the season. Contact the church by calling 610-965-6867.
    Saturday May 7th, 2011 at 10 AM at the Ice House, Sand Island in Bethlehem, PA. A celebration of Spring music of the Renaissance. The workshop will have a dance around the Maypole for all ages. Charming melodies, fascinating instruments performed by 4 instrumental musicians and a singer. Hear the lute, guitar, gemshorns, krumhorns, fiddle, recorders, Admission $5 per person or $7.50 with the workshop.
  • Sunday January 9th, 2011 at 4 PM a Family Concert at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at 750 Greenfield Road, Lancaster, PA 17603. The concert is preceded by a mini-Renaissance Faire for kids and followed by a Renaissance dance workshop. Contact: Rev. Marilyn Witte or call (717) 371-8845.

  • Saturday December 4th, 2010 at 5 PM at Trinity Episcopal Church at 44 East Market Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018. "Winter Delights"- Renaissance music for the Yuletide season, featuring guest vocalist Alyssa Thatcher. In conjunction with the Conference in Medieval and Early Modern Studies at Moravian College, the concert is followed by a mock boar's head reception.

  • Saturday, December 19th at 10 AM and 3 PM at the Ice House, Sand Island in Bethlehem, PA. The morning event at 10 AM is a Renaissance Christmas Party for families. There will be music, followed by a workshop making puppets while having cookies and juice. The musical portion will be $5 or, $7.50 music with workshop. Charming melodies, fascinating instruments performed by 4 instrumental musicians. Hear the lute, harpsichord, gemshorns, krumhorns, vielle, recorders, some old European carols and dances of the wintery and holiday season.  The afternoon concert at 3pm at the Icehouse is a musical celebration of A Renaissance Christmas. Seasonal songs and dances of wintry 17th century Europe . Admission $5 per person.

  • May 24, 2007 at about 6 - 8 pm in Bethlehem for “Tunes at Twilight”. This will be in the courtyard behind the Sun Inn off Main Street in Historic Bethlehem. The concert is informal and will be free. Bring your family and your picnic dinner and enjoy tunes from long ago performed in Renaissance costumes.

  • April 21, 2007 at 4 PM at the Icehouse, Sand Island in Bethlehem PA. $5 show.  Family Spring Concert with the songs and dances of the Renaissance celebrating Spring including a Maypole Dance with the audience.

  • April 14, 2007 at 10 AM at the Icehouse, Sand Island in Bethlehem PA. $5 show, $7.50 show and workshop. Family Spring Concert, followed by a workshop for children.  Cambiata welcomes Spring with a performance of songs, dances, and ditties from the European Renaissance.

  • February 2, 2007 at 7:30 PM at the Chamber Music in the Old Chapel, Heckewelder Place, Bethlehem PA. Music of the Medieval and Renaissance period. You may reserve tickets and pick them up 30 minutes prior to the performance. For ticket information call the church office at 610-866-5661. There will be a free-will offering.

  • January 27, 2007 at 6 - 8 PM at the Allentown Art Museum, Allentown, PA. Reception music to an opening of the Knights in Shining Armor exhibit. Cambiata will play, among other great pieces, the ballad of Lord Willoughby's Welcome Home.
